In this video, I'll show you how to upload vector files or eps with FTP (Filezilla) on alamy.com contributor.

To upload vectors on Alamy via FileZilla, you'll need to follow these steps:

Open FileZilla and connect to your Alamy FTP account. You'll need to enter the FTP server address, your username, and your password.

Once you're connected, navigate to the "vectors" directory on the Alamy server.

Drag and drop the vector files you want to upload from your computer to the "vectors" directory on the Alamy server.

Wait for the upload to complete.

Once the upload is complete, you should be able to see your vector files on Alamy.

Note: Please make sure that your vector files are in the correct file format(EPS, AI, PDF) and also have a proper file size(less than 100MB) before uploading.

Please also note that Alamy has a specific format for the file names and keywords. You may want to check the guidelines on Alamy's website for more information.

How do I send my vectors to Alamy
FTP is the quickest and easiest way to send us your vectors, just follow these quick and simple steps

You’ll need an FTP client, we recommend Filezilla, FirefTP, WinSCP, Cyberduck, or ClassicFTP
Enter Alamy’s FTP details into your FTP Client:
Host name: upload.alamy.com
Login/username: Your Alamy email
Port: 21
Your password is the same as your Alamy login
Drag your vectors to the Vectors folder
If you’re sending metadata using JPEGs then drag these into the Vectors folder too
Once you’ve successfully uploaded your vectors, they’ll begin to be processed.

Vector Quality Control
Stock vectors can be used in a number of different ways depending on the customer’s needs so it’s important that your files:

Are high quality
Have no locked layers
Have all filled paths closed
Are clear of any stray points and loose ends
Vectors don’t go through the same Quality Control stage as images but they’re occasionally spot checked. If there are any problems with your submissions, we’ll send you an email to let you know.

Quality Control

Each image has to go through this process and you need to follow image upload guidelines closely if you want to avoid your images being rejected for quality control reasons. Alamy has a useful guide on how to pass their QC so be sure to read it carefully before submitting images.

Their QC process usually takes 24 hours but it can take longer on weekends or during holidays. As you start uploading images, you’ll get notified via email as soon as your images have been checked. A few helpful pointers that will help you pass QC include:

Make sure your photos were taken with a DSLR camera or equivalent
Even though Alamy won’t check all the images you submit at once, make sure that each image is at its best quality as only a small sample is checked which then determines whether the entire batch of submitted photos will be accepted
Be sure to check all images at 100% size before you submit
