Rice stem borers Scirpophaga innotata and Scirpophaga incertulas are considered as the most important insects retarding paddy yiels especially in thr core area or rice zone of Punjab. Its attack is not so severe in cetral to south Punjab. Farmers use cartap, monomehypo, chlorantraniliprol, fipronil and many other products to control stem borer in rice crop.
