Balochi Do-Naari Bansuri - Pir Buksh

Recorded in 2014 in Quetta, Pir Buksh, a Baloch from Naseerabad, is playing soul-soothing Balochi melodies. Do-Naar, meaning two pipes/flutes, is mostly linked to Baloch shepherds roaming around the vast stretches of Balochistan. Pir Buksh, a veteran Do-Naari player, having performed for national television and others, gave us some beautiful melodies to cherish, taking us along on a ride to dozens of sheep and goat munching on the wild flowers of all smells and shapes, found in the rugged mountains and deserts of Balochistan.

The Baloch, ethnically natives of the province of Balochistan in modern-day Pakistan and Iran, have a culture based around the rugged and raw mountains of Balochistan and Suleiman Ranges, herding, and the deserts. The Balochi dance of Lewa itself is based upon the body-movements of a camel, seen all around Balochistan.
