VARIABLE SPEED Treadmill Motor Conversion Installed ONBOARD On Older Mini Lathe, DIY. Jet ML-1014

Описание к видео VARIABLE SPEED Treadmill Motor Conversion Installed ONBOARD On Older Mini Lathe, DIY. Jet ML-1014

My journey upgrading a Jet ML-1014 mini lathe with a permanent magnet DC motor from a treadmill. When I started the conversion I couldn't find any videos specifically featuring a small lathe with an onboard motor, so I decided to make my own video in case it helps someone else. Yes, I know you can now buy this same lathe with variable speed. This is just to put the process out there for anyone like me that can be somewhat cheap and doesn't like to trash something that could be fixed (unless it's a treadmill, apparently). This was done for about $42 in salvaged materials. And a shop full of average tools. And a habit of "resource hoarding". It also could have been done without welding if needed.
Sorry for all the jump-cuts and the irregular audio, this was just quickly filmed with my phone while working on the conversion over several days and I had to edit out a ton of my rambling and about 500 times that I said "Ummm". I have no idea how Big Clive can do those long videos in one take...
Cheers!
