Deuxième œuvre d’Ohad Naharin à entrer au répertoire du Ballet de l’Opéra de Paris après Perpetuum en 2000, Decadance est une pièce forte et singulière. Lorsqu’il l’imagine, le chorégraphe célèbre ses 10 ans de création au sein de la Batsheva Dance Company en proposant un surprenant collage d’extraits de son répertoire. Dix séquences remaniées et enrichies offrent un large panel de la variété de son inspiration tout en interrogeant les lignes de force de sa recherche. Du 28 septembre au 19 octobre prochains, 38 danseurs du Corps de Ballet se jetteront dans l’arène. Alors qu’il les rencontrait pour la première fois en répétition en juin, Ohad Naharin nous a ouvert les portes des studios du Palais Garnier et nous a livré ses premières impressions… Au-delà des écoles et des styles, le corps en mouvement reste seul langage universel.

Decadance is the second piece by Ohad Naharin to enter the repertoire of the Paris Opera Ballet after Perpetuum in 2000, and it is a powerful and singular piece. When he imagined it, the choreographer was celebrating his 10 years of creation with the Batsheva Dance Company by proposing a surprising collage of extracts from his repertoire. Ten redesigned and enriched sequences offer a wide panel showing the diversity of his inspiration while questioning the strengths of his research. From September 28th to October 19th, 38 dancers from the Corps de Ballet will throw themselves into the arena. Whilst meeting them for the first time for a rehearsal in June, Ohad Naharin opened the doors of the Palais Garnier studios and gave us his first impressions... Beyond schools and styles, the body in motion remains the only universal language.
