Hey all, here's my chill remix of Face Shrine from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening! Link's Awakening was my first Zelda game as a kid, and is a title I often credit with making me fall in love with video games. When we got the Switch remake in 2009, I was ecstatic, and hearing the new arrangement of the Face Shrine theme gave me actual goosebumps. I honestly think the Switch arrangement of this piece is one of the most hauntingly beautiful dungeon themes ever created. It is such a beautiful way to capture Link's struggle as he presses on, now knowing the truth of his quest and what will happen if he completes it. For my take on this incredible piece, I used reverb'd piano and guitar to emphasize the dreamy feel while keeping the drums understated. I really wanted to combine that feel with the swelling emotion of the original, all while keeping it somewhat low-key and even chill. Here's the result of that. Hope you enjoy it!
