After 2 years, I bring you all The Chain! This MAP was a joy to work on and I could not ask for a better team of participants! Thank you all for your hard work!! This is meant to be part 1 of The Roots AU, although I am unsure if the trilogy will continue. Story: This is a Mapleshade AU where, after telling Appledusk she's pregnant, he rejects her and tells her he has a new mate. This greatly upsets her, and she flees from their meetup spot, vowing revenge. This means that she never takes the kits to the river to swim and it's never revealed that Appledusk is their father. She fully takes up the notion that Birchface is their father, and becomes extremely close to Frecklewish. 3 moons after Mapleshade has given birth to Patchkit, Larchkit, and Petalkit, ThunderClan has planned an attack on RiverClan, who've claimed Sunningrocks after the battle. Mapleshade decides that now is the exact moment to interject, and to plead with her clanmates to kill Appledusk to avenge Birchface. The clan agrees, and they begin their battle strategy. During the battle, both Frecklewish and Oakstar are present, as well as Appledusk. Both take Appledusk down, killing him. RiverClan retreats and ThunderClan returns home triumphantly. Once word of Appledusk's death reaches Mapleshade, she lets out a devious purr of delight as her vengeance has been fulfilled. 3 moons later, Patchkit, Larchkit, and Petalkit are apprenticed as Patchpaw , Larchpaw, and Petalpaw to Frecklewish, Beetail, and Bloomheart. Another three moons pass and the three are chosen to go to the Gathering where they meet three RiverClan apprentices, Applepaw, Shypaw, and Willowpaw. The moonlight filters through the branches of Four Trees, but no one else except Patchpaw notices how similar they all look to each other.
