Moss poles vs Coco coir poles
Moss poles are often filled with sphagnum moss, offer a moist, nutrient-rich environment that encourages aerial root attachment and larger leaf growth, but require more maintenance and are typically more expensive. Coco coir poles are made from coconut husk fibers, provide durable, well-draining support for climbing plants, are generally more affordable and easier to maintain.

On screen text:
Position your Monstera adansonii so its "back" (where the aerial roots emerge) is facing the pole.
Gently guide the vines toward the pole.
Use soft twine or plant ties to loosely attach the vines to the pole.
Avoid tying too tightly, as this can damage the stems. You want to support, not strangle, the plant.
Secure the vines at several points along the pole, encouraging them to climb.
Over time the aerial roots will attach to the coco coir.

Misting:
Misting the coco coir pole is highly beneficial.
It increases humidity, which Monstera adansonii loves.
A moist pole encourages the aerial roots to grow into it, providing the plant with additional support and nutrients.
Mist the pole regularly, especially during dry periods.
Misting helps to deter some pests!

Propagation:
Monstera adansonii is easily propagated through stem cuttings.
Select a healthy stem with at least one node (the point where leaves emerge).
Cut the stem just below a node.
You can root the cutting in water or directly in moist soil.
If rooting in water, top up the water as needed.
Once roots have developed, plant the cutting in a pot with Aroid soil.

Basic Monstera care:
Light: Monstera adansonii prefers bright, indirect light.
Watering: Allow the top layer of soil to dry out before watering.
Humidity: These plants thrive in high humidity.
Soil: Plant into an Aroid soil!
