Op 14 mei 1948 riep de Joodse politicus David Ben-Gurion de onafhankelijkheid van de staat Israël uit. Het zou tot veel spanningen leiden tussen de omringende Arabische landen en de nieuwe Joodse staat Israël. Tot op de dag van vandaag zijn deze spanningen er in het Midden-Oosten nog steeds. In deze video gaat het over de stichting van de staat Israël.
