India’s richest businessman Mukesh Ambani’s son, Anant Ambani, runs a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centre called Vantara.
Why did they start this place ? Let me explain.
This centre is located inside Reliance Jamnagar campus in Gujarat.
It spreads across 3,000 acres.
In 2024, Prime Minister Modi officially opened this centre.
It is considered the world’s largest private zoo.
In that place see more than 2,000 wild animals including lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and crocodiles – belonging to 43 different species.
Everyday they have to feed, clean and maintain that place.
1000 workers work day and night to keep the place good.
But the centre is now facing serious allegations.
Animal welfare groups and activists claim that many animals, especially elephants, were illegally brought from India and other countries.
A lawyer named C.R. Jayasukin filed a case in the Supreme Court.
The case questions the activities of the Vantara centre.
The court has now ordered a Special Investigation Team, called SIT, to check the allegations.
The SIT will be led by retired Supreme Court judge J. Chelameswar.
The court ordered SIT to submit their full report before September 12.
