Now that the Ramjanmabhumi-Babri Masjid dispute is over, will politicians rake up another Ayodhya in Kashi and Mathura? Would people again fight over faith, or the new generation would take note of the more prominent and burning issues and let bygones be bygones to create a more tolerant but resilient community? As the Supreme Court readies to hear the PIL on Places of Worship Act, it needs to be seen if the country would consolidate its secular foundation or build a tomb of its principles.
