Geology of Pemaquid Point

Welcome back to the park. Today we will be taking a closer look at the rocks beneath the Pemaquid Point Lighthouse. We'll be talking about how the rocks got here, what they are made of, how old they are, and lots more.

We are always getting questions about the rock formations around our town, and specifically the one at the lighthouse. Our visitors just can't get enough of them. It's understandable, our rocks are perhaps the most beautiful on the entire coast of Maine.
