#22Pushups To Honor Those Who Serve

“My name is Marcel Bohnert, I am a Major in the German Armed Forces as well as the editor of the first compendium on the so called »New German Combat Veterans«. I’m about to do my 22 pushups for 22Kill, to honor those who serve! While I´m doing that, you´ll see 22 scenes from my last deployment to Kundus/Afghanistan… My nomination goes out to all soldiers who were part of my company in Kundus/Afghanistan in 2011 and all officers I was responsible for at the Armed Forces University. Remember: You are citizens in uniform, part of our federal republic, part of our society. Be proud of it – wear your uniform while you are doing your pushups! We will donate all proceeds from our veterans book to the BUND DEUTSCHER EINSATZVETERANEN which is the biggest German Veterans Association, and I personally will bring (round) up every donation to the nearest 100 Euro.”

Help us reach our goal to get 22 Million pushups – To honor those who serve and to raise awareness for veteran suicide prevention through education and empowerment. Every pushup counts so don’t be shy to show your support for our veterans. You can do as many or few pushups as you can or choose. Whether it’s 1 or 100 in a row, we will accept them however they come. They can be assisted (on your knees), incline (on a desk/wall), or if you physically are unable to do any, we’ll even take air pushups. They all count towards the goal as long as you follow the instructions below.

Nominiert sind alle Einsatzsoldaten, die 2011 in der Kompanie von Maj Bohnert in Kundus/Afghanistan gedient haben sowie Offiziere, deren Disziplinarvorgesetzer er an der Universität der Bundeswehr war.

Warum auf Englisch und nicht auf Deutsch?
Weil wir auch im internationalen Umfeld darauf aufmerksam machen wollen, dass es in Deutschland über 350.000 EinsatzVeteranen gibt!

Bohnert, Marcel, Major; diploma in educational theory; born in 1979; attended the National General/Admiral Staff Officer Course of the Bundeswehr (LGAN 2015) at the Bundeswehr Command and Staff College in Hamburg; formerly section leader in Task Force Zur, Kosovo; officer commanding a combat unit with Task Force Kunduz in Afghanistan, and head of a military section at Bundeswehr University, Hamburg; author of numerous articles concerning the ISAF mission as well as co-editor of the much-discussed anthologies “Armee im Aufbruch” (Armed Forces on the Move), “Die unsichtbaren Veteranen” (The Unseen Veterans), and the mission report “200 Tage Kunduz” (200 Days Kunduz).
