Speaker Biography: Dr. Jeremy Segal, MD, PhD, is an assistant professor of Pathology and the Director of Molecular and Cytogenetic Pathology at the University of Chicago, where he is responsible for overseeing the development and performance of clinical next-generation sequencing (NGS) assays to support translational research and the development of personalized medicine in oncology and other disease areas. He is also the president and co-founder of the Genomics Organization for Academic Laboratories (GOAL), where he uses his expertise in NGS diagnostics to help academic laboratories offer more comprehensive genomic testing by lowering obstacles to these assays. Prior to joining the University of Chicago, he was the director of clinical development and policy at the New York Genome Center. He received his doctor of medicine from Weill Medical College of Cornell University and his PhD in genetics from The Rockefeller University in New York.
