Composites vs Normal WHICH SIDE OF THE FENCE?

In this video, I photograph Herd Groyne Lighthouse in a Fine art style. Some viewers might not like it!

Last week I visited the incredible Herd Groyne Lighthouse. It's my first visit to the location. It's an incredible place and one I shall definitely return to.

I arrived at sunset so I could recce the area ready for the following morning. Herd Groyne Lighthouse is on the East coast of England, therefore, making it a sunrise location. Photographing sunrise locations at sunset and vice versa is something I very often do. I frequently find that working the opposite way around can sometimes produce incredible results. Sadly, that evening wasn't going to be such an occasion. The light just wasn't good. The sky to the west was covered in clouds and obviously wasn't going to produce any nice light. Because of this, I had an idea.

I thought rather than waste the night, what if I photographed each element and created a composite? so I did!

In this video, you will see me take pictures at sunset to use as a composite and then I attack the location at sunrise the following morning in my normal way.

Some of you will like the results from my otherwise wasted time there and some will definitely not.
