Choosing and Fitting Crampons | Episode 2 | MSC Alpine Snow Skills Series

In this episode of the Alpine Snow Skills Series we will show you how to select and fit different types of crampons as part of gearing up for snow travel. It is important to note that the Rapid-Fix Crampons demonstrated in this video will only be compatible with rigid mountaineering boots with a protruding ledge at the heel. They are not compatible with standard hiking/tramping boots without this ledge. If you aren’t sure if your boots are suitable, ask someone with suitable experience or see your nearest outdoor retailer.

This series is aimed to introduce participants to basic skills and we encourage you to further your education to keep yourself safe in the outdoors. A great place to start is to watch the rest of the videos in this series and attend an alpine skills course.
