At least 29 survived the crash of a passenger plane in Kazakhstan, according to the country's authorities and local media. At least 38 people have died according to Deputy Prime Minister Kanat Bozumbayev of Kazakhstan. The jet was carrying 62 passengers and five crew members went down near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan, on Wednesday. Kazakhstan's Emergency Situations Ministry said that at least 29 people had survived, including two children. The ministry posted photographs that it said were from the scene, showing firefighters searching through the debris. One photograph showed the plane's tail largely intact, though it had been separated from the fuselage. The Azerbaijan Airlines plane was making an emergency landing in Aktau after colliding with a flock of birds. The airline said in a statement that its plane had come down about 1.8 miles away from Aktau. The Embraer 190 was travelling from Baku to Grozny in Russia's Chechnya Republic in the North Caucasus. Azerbaijan Airlines is suspending flights from Baku to Grozny and Makhachkala until the crash investigation is complete.
