Khaggu Sarai Mohalla is about one km away from the Shahi Jama Masjid of Sambhal. An old temple is visible about 500 meters inside the main road. Worship was performed for the first time after 46 years in this temple built on about 70 yards of land. Then, out of fear, 100 Hindu families living in Khaggu Sarai migrated. Most of them were businessmen.
Violence broke out in Sambhal during a survey at Jama Masjid on 24 November. This city has a long history of riots. 16 riots have taken place here in the last 88 years. This figure has been obtained from the records of the police-administration.
