Welcome back! In this video, we dive deep into MySQL, a powerful Open Source Relational Database Management System (RDBMS). This video is specially designed for CBSE Class 12 Computer Science and Informatics Practices students to help them master the basics of DBMS for their board exams.

MySQL is freely available open source RDBMS that uses Structured Query Language(SQL). In MySQL, information is stored in tables. A
single mysql database can contain many tables at once and store a lot of individual records. MySQL provides features to support a

secure environment for storing, maintaining and accessing data. MySQL is fast, reliable, scalable alternative to many of the

commercial RDBMS now a days.
MySQL operates on Cient/Server architecture in which the server runs on the machine containing the databases and clients connnect to

the server over a network means MySQL is a multiuser database system where several users can access the database simultaneously.

Server- It listen for client request and access database contents according to those request and provide data to the client.
Client- Clients are programs that connects to the database server and issue queries in a pre-specified format.

feature of MySQL:

1. Speed- MSQL runs very fast
2. Easy of use- uses command line like cmd command.
3. Cost- free of cost / open source
4. Query Language Support- Supports SQL
5. Portability- Tested with various compilers and platforms
6. Data Type- INT, FLOAT, VARCHAR and also support fixed length and variable length
7. Security- Password system and host-based varification.
8. Scalability and limits- It handles large database and it's records
9. Connectivity- Client can connect to SQL Server database by many protocol
10. Localization- Provide error-message in many language.


Starting MySQL- According to windows Operating System,
Click start-MySQL-MySQL Server-MySQL Command Line Client

Here, provide the database password and press the Enter button.
