Does Marvel's Annihilation live up to the hype?

The Annihilation Omnibus. This is where it all began (again). In 2006 Marvel Comics decided to reignite their cosmic line with Annihilation in a bid to rival Green Lantern at DC and match the earth-level Civil War. With a plethora of characters such as Nova, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Silver Surfer, Galactus, Annihilus and Thanos, Annihilation was the crossover event that took the industry by storm.

From there we got Conquest, War Of Kings and the Thanos Imperative, but was the start as good as everyone claimed? After years of waiting for a reprint of the Omnibus, was it worth it? I'm here to do a breakdown, recap and review of the series to let you know what I think!
