Our classrooms have never been so linguistically diverse and pedagogy has shifted in response to this change. Teachers know that making connections with students is key to engaging them in their learning and supporting their success. But how can teachers encourage participation among students who do not yet speak the school language? In this video, a group of teachers discuss research-based practices that they use in their language friendly classrooms to encourage participation among all students.
