Ferrari 400i GT (1982) 5 Speed Manual RHD

Описание к видео Ferrari 400i GT (1982) 5 Speed Manual RHD

This is my recently purchased Ferrari 400i GT which I’ve just taken home from Italy. I bought it last year (April 2021) in a private sale and it underwent 10 months of mechanical refurbishment in the Ferrari specialist Autofficina Sauro Ferrari in Bologna as the car had not been used much in the last 28 years. It only has 35,500 miles on the clock and has had three famous owners, famous in the Ferrari community that is!
I struggled in the video pronouncing the name of the famous engine which is spelled Colombo after it’s inventer and unlike the old detective series, Columbo played by Peter Falk 😉
The Colombo Engine was also fitted to the famous Daytona cars of that time as well as all the 400 models.
This car is rare as it not only has a 5 speed manual box it is also right hand drive and as far as I can find out there were only about 17 made in that configuration. This car was the first to be offered as an automatic by Ferrari and so the vast majority were ordered with the auto box!
The colour is also very rare, it’s called Rosso Metalallizzato and again, as far as I can find out only about a dozen were painted in this colour over the lifespan of the cars’s production run which was at 17 years incidentally the longest run in Ferrari’s history. The total number of cars built in that time was 2,907 and that included the earliest cars which were called the 365 GT4 2+2, the 400 and finally the 412.
Let me know what you think of her and sorry again for my croaky voice 😎
