The Feast of the Dedication of the Lateran Basilica celebrates the mother and head of all churches in Rome and the world, a symbol of the unity of the Church. The first reading from Ezekiel 47:1–2, 8–9, 12 presents the vision of life-giving waters flowing from the temple, a sign of God’s grace bringing healing and renewal. Psalm 46 proclaims God as our refuge and strength, ever-present in times of trouble. In the second reading, 1 Corinthians 3:9c–11, 16–17, St. Paul reminds us that the true temple of God is His people, built upon Christ, the only foundation. The Gospel from John 2:13–22 recounts Jesus cleansing the temple, affirming His body as the new temple where God’s glory dwells. This feast calls us to honor the Church as God’s dwelling among us and to live as holy temples filled with His Spirit.
