Описание к видео All this work to fix a toilet!

Welcome back to the channel on today’s video. I’m gonna show you how to fix a toilet that doesn’t flush just like this one. This toilet has a siphon on the inside and my guess is that the diaphragm washer is either split and torn and that is what stops the cynic action from working. The bolts underneath are completely rusted so that’s gonna be fun taking it off because we’re taking the system off the toilet. We’re gonna be replacing the seals in between and most probably alter in the toilet feed pipe as once you take them apart, they never go back again and you’ve only got a little bit of wiggle room to get it back together.

First things 1st to do is shut the water down as we’re gonna be render pipework going onto the toilet. I’m with the water turned off we’re gonna need to empty the system as much as possible as I’m gonna be taking it off and working on it so because this siphon isn’t working properly, we’re gonna have to empty myself and I’ll be using the Derblaue kit to empty the system as this is a mini sump pump and I could pump it straight down the toilet pan.

Once the tank is empty, we’re gonna need to remove it from the pan and as the bolts are so rusted I use my fein multitool with some carbide blades and that should rip straight through. I also decided to slice through the screws holding the system to the wall as these can always be a pain and I’ll just reattach it using the same with different fixings.

Now with assistant completely loose I emptied the water that’s remaining down the sink and put it on top of the toilet but make sure you cover the toilet seat so it doesn’t scratch or move about too much. I always find it 10 times faster to cut the back nut away from the toilet instead of trying to undo it as the amount of limescale makes it really hard so I find it easier just to cut two slots and spitting with a screwdriver.

The old safe out as you can see half the washer is still inside the body and that is not allowing the water to cause a symphonic action when the handle is pressed the new ones that we fit can normally be taken out without doing this whole process, so we’re easily able to replace either the washer or the whole siphon Very easily.

Well, I’ve got the system apart. I’m gonna change the Phil valve over so I know that both parts have been replaced at the same time. When installing new parts on the toilet I always like to use the washer supplied on the inside so that’s a rubber washers and then on the outside because there is a gap left I like to just fill that gap with silicon and that will take out any imperfections of the ceramic and also stop parts from moving when we’re twisting them out and inward.

But the toilet parts both replaced I’m gonna cut the feed pipe out so the water off I’m able to drain it through the isolation valve and drain all the water out the run so I can dissolve at the fittings and start again. My main thought pattern is to bring the pipework sideways and up as this will allow me to have my isolation valve as low as possible going straight up to the fill valve

I’m using my normal isolation valves which are for flow and allowed customer to turn them on and off if they ever need to isolate the toilet without using any tools and the connector onto the fill valve as a really nice flat surface with a rubber washer. Any proper modifications to the supply line can easily be done by draining the tank and lifting the fill valve apart the way if needed.

Now it’s time to put the system back on the wall and using some fixings from Bullfix. These fixings are designed for any drywall stud work or void as you drill a 20 mm hole and insert the insert and then the fish tail type part pushes in and the two ends pull out against the plasterboard. It’s only requires a gap of 7 mm and any screw size with a thickness of 5.0 or 10 head screw with threads all the way and no gaps.

With assistant back onto the wall and connected to the toilet pan and onto the copper feed line we can give it a good test and make sure that everything works as it should do if you’d like today’s Plumbing video please give it a like drop a comment down below if you do anything different subscribe if you are new and I’ll see you on the next one.
