Gottlieb's Pinball Woodrails The 4 Horsemen 1950

The Four Horsemen of Notre Dame comprised a group of American football players at the University of Notre Dame under coach Knute Rockne. They were the backfield of Notre Dame's 1924 football team. The players that made up this group were Harry Stuhldreher, Don Miller, Jim Crowley, and Elmer Layden.
This game was in honor of the 4 Horsemen and the stadium on the backglass is the Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana.
As for the game it is a gate game - see safety gate in video. There are multiple ways to win, single points, millions, and 2 ways to get playfield rollover specials.
The artwork is evocative of the era and the game plays fantastic. Pop bumpers have as much pep as a modern game. One of the easiest woodrails to win and win big on. There were 1800 produced and I suspect this game must have been both an operator's and player's favorite. Every game I get close to winning, almost but not quite. Perfect for anyone who knows that intermittent reinforcement is the most powerful behavior motivator!
It is a bit of a shock to people that a 1950 game can have so much playability.
