Difference Between CUI And GUI | Character User Interface And Graphical User Interface

User interface or UI is a place where interactions between humans and machines occur. User Interface is of two types:- CUI and GUI
CUI stands for Character User Interface, it is the interface in which User interacts with computer using commands like text. In character user interface or CUI users interact with the computer system by typing commands into the keyboard. Character User Interface is difficult to use, because commands and their syntax needs to be memorised. User must be technically skilled to use character user interface.
GUI stands for Graphical User Interface, it is the interface in which user interacts with the system using Graphics like icons, images, buttons, window etc. In graphical user interface users interact with the computer system using a graphical interface, which includes menus and mouse clicks. Graphical user interface is easy to use as everyone can use this interface easily. There are various difference between Character user Interface and Graphical User Interface, the main difference between CUI and GUI is that In CUI user interacts with the computer using commands like text while in GUI user interacts with the system using Graphics like icons, images. CUI is difficult to use while GUI is easy to use. In CUI navigation is not easy but in GUI navigation is easy. CUI has high speed while GUI has low speed. CUI has a low memory requirement while GUI has a High memory requirement. CUI has high speed while GUI has low speed. CUI has high precision while GUI has low precision.Appearance of CUI is not easily changeable while GUI is highly customizable.
