Taobat Bala: The Ultimate Travel Guide | Beauty of Kashmir's Gurez Valley [4K] Ultra HD

The otherworldly beautiful hamlet of Taobat Bala is situated in Gurez Sector along LOC (Line of Control, the 861-km border line between India and Pakistan) in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan. Gurez is divided into three regions. The area from Toabat to Sharda Peeth is administered by Pakistan as Neelum District, that between Kamri and Minimarg is also administered by Pakistan as Astore District, Gilgit-Baltistan, and that from Taobat to Abdullah Tulail is known as Gurez Tehsil and falls in District Bandipore of Indian Occupied Kashmir.

In 1895, Walter R. Lawrence, called the Gurez Valley “one of the most beautiful scenes in all of Kashmir,” where the tourmaline waters of the Kishenganga River are framed by “mountain scarps of indescribable grandeur.” In his book "The Valley of Kashmir, " which he wrote after travelling throughout the princely state, he predicted that Gurez would soon become one of Kashmir’s most popular Himalayan tourist destinations.

The small fairytale village perfectly sits near the confluence of Gagai and Dudgai Nullahs, known as the Gagai river, which joins Neelam River at Taobat and become a right bank tributary of the river. This heavenly place with untapped tourism potential is at a distance of 203 km from Muzaffarabad & around 3 km from that of Taobat-I.

Nonethless, the drive from Taobat to Taobat Bala along the enchanting Gagai River is like a cherry on a cake. The 3-km adventurous drive starting from Taobat Bridge to the village is certainly the country's most scenic drive. Set up camps, sit back, and relax to take in the amazing landscape.
