Step by Step Guide
00:01:09 - 00:01:49 Step 1️⃣ - Please open your VSDC Video Editor. Close the Pro version offer.
Go to "New Project" underneath projects or "Blank Project" underneath start project now and make sure you set to the video settings I showed you in my last video.
(If you have forgotten, pause this video now and refer back to my second tutorial video.)
00:01:50 - 00:01:59 Step 2️⃣ - Once you have checked your video settings, click finish to get started on a video project.
00:02:00 - 00:02:22 Step 3️⃣ - First, lets add a video. Any video will do. Lets add a video where we can insert text into the video.
00:02:23 - 00:03:31 Step 4️⃣ - After adding a video, lets find a timeline on the video where we can add a text box.
You may need to use the zoom tool called "Set Timeline Scale" underneath objects explorer for the layers to mark the starting and finishing point of your video. The Set Timeline Scale is here to help in case if you need to zoom into the details of timeline to add your text.
00:03:32 - 00:04:09 Step 5️⃣ - After zooming in and marking your idea on the timeline, go to the "T" icon and click on it to add a text. After clicking on the "T" icon, click on the "From Cursor Position" and "Add New Layer". After that, press "OK"
00:04:10 - 00:06:07 Step 6️⃣ - Draw a text box in the area of your video. Type a few letters to mark your text box and align the text to the centre of the text box. You may want to highlight what you typed first.
Once you did that, feel free to change your font settings, sizes, colour, contour colour and contour thickness if you feel you need it.
Text goes "out of the box"? Select a word (starting or continue) and go behind that letter, then press "Enter" and repeat the process if it happens again.
For the paragraph, click the text layer, highlight all your text (especially once you pressed "Enter" on you keyboard), find paragraph and decide on either left align, centre or right align. And choose either top align, centre align or bottom align for your text positioning height.
Important: make sure the TEXT LAYERS ARE ABOVE the video, NOT UNDERNEATH the video! If underneath, the text won't appear in the video.
00:06:08 - 00:07:43 Step 7️⃣ - After positioning the textbox, size and font (and colour as an option), in the layers where you zoomed in, you can position where the text will appear and drag the end of the text layer of where you want the text to end.
(Optional mention, you can also make the text fade in and fade out by clicking the text layer first and then going to "Video Effects", find transitions and click on fade in first. and then, click fade out.)
