In August of 2015, the Canadian National Ukrainian Festival celebrated its 50th anniversary with a spectacle that fans have been looking forward to for years. Dauphin, Manitoba is the largest Ukrainian community outside of the Ukraine so it made sense that in 1965 a group of community members created an annual event that reflected Canadian Ukrainian Culture in Canada. After fifty years the festival has experienced some challenges drawing new fans and a younger demographic, but a resurgence of interest in Ukrainian cuisine, as well as dancing, offers hope to the board and the community.
