Let’s make my unique cinnamon and jam rolls—soft, sweet, and absolutely delicious!

Ingredients:

1 & 1/4 cups lukewarm milk
7 grams active yeast
1 tbsp honey
1 egg
3 & 1/4 cups plain flour
1 tsp salt
27 grams unsalted butter

Spread/filling
115 grams of butter
100 of brown sugar
50g sugar cinnamon powder

Start by activating the yeast. In a large bowl, add one cup of lukewarm milk and seven grams of active yeast. Give it a mix and let it bloom for five minutes.

Now, add one tablespoon of honey and one egg. Mix it well and set it aside.

Next, in a separate bowl, combine three and a quarter cups of plain flour with one teaspoon of salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and mix with a spatula until you get a sticky dough. Cover it with a cloth and let it sit for 15- 20 minutes.

After 15- 20 minutes, sprinkle some flour on your work surface and place the dough on top. Now, add 27 grams of unsalted butter and knead for five minutes until smooth. Grease a bowl with a little oil, place the dough in, cover it, and let it rise for an hour.

Once the dough has risen, press it down to release the gas. Sprinkle some flour on your work surface, place the dough on top, and roll it into a thick round shape. Cut it into eight pizza-like pieces.

Now, take each piece and roll it out into a large round or square. Fold it in half and make small cuts along the fold. Use these cuts to create knots or braids, then unfold the dough back to its original shape.

Time for the filling! Spread a mixture of cinnamon, brown sugar, and butter over the dough. Then, roll one side at a time and pinch the edges together to seal. Shape it into a spiral and secure the end by pinching it underneath. Place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Preheat your oven to 170°C. Brush the rolls with an egg or milk wash, then bake for 15 minutes, until golden and crispy.

And there you have it—fluffy, buttery cinnamon and jam rolls! Perfect with a cup of tea or coffee. Try them out and let me know what you think!
