The Belgrade to Bar Railway is one of the most stunning and scenic train trips you can do in Europe. However, its popularity has hardly taken off and only railway fans would flock to the small country of Montenegro to ride this line. With just four trains a day and an extra seasonal one during the Summer months, this isn't an easy thing to do and requires some planning.

The ZPCG is in charge of all rail transport in the former Yugoslav country of Montenegro. Is has one daily night train connecting Belgrade the capital of Serbia with the coastal town of Bar at the Adriatic Sea. The Lovcen Nighttrain has kinda the cult status among railway fans where one of the cars is actually part of Tito's train.

But what about catching a regular local train during the day, because the most scenic part of this line is between Podgorica and Kolasin. Locomotive pulled trains will take you up the mountain and you can soak up the view from your window in a decaying train car. Despite everything seems to fall apart, the ZPCG still manages to run a functioning railway system.
