Recently enough, one of my friends was talking about getting into home bartending, and she asked me if she really needed all the different kinds of bitters, or are Angostura Bitters the best bitters and she wouldn’t need any others.

While there are a lot of bitters out there, and some are definitely different, like orange, or rhubarb bitters, I decided to put three “basic” bitters against each other in an old fashioned, to see if, when mixed with whiskey, sugar and ice, you can really taste the difference.

So, let’s get to making some old fashioneds, and see which is the best bitters for an old fashioned!
