Increasing aggression displayed by China recently has made it necessary for countries like the USA, Japan, Australia, India to come together to address the common concerns. China has shown itself to be an expansionist power, showing aggression against its smaller and less powerful neighbours. As China grows further, it not only threatens the USA's position as the sole superpower, but it can also change the rules of the international order adversely affecting countries like India, Japan, Australia among others.

So all these countries are now building up security alliances like AUKUS comprising Australia, USA, & UK as well as Quadrilateral Grouping comprising India, USA, Japan & Australia. These democratic powers share common values like liberal governments and societies, democracy, plural societies and they all want to keep the Indo-pacific region peaceful by containing Chinese aggression.
