Coloured Stone - Sydney - January 15 2023

Formed in 1977, Coloured Stone are an icon of Australian music. I first saw them in 1983 in Central Australia before the release of their first album, “Koonibba Rock”. They have stayed close to my heart ever since and a rare Sydney appearance was not to be missed. Song-writer, story-teller and activist, Bunna Lawrie, is the only remaining founding member. With him on stage was Jason Scott (lead and vocals), Adam Ventoura (bass), Shane Tane (drums), Juanitta Tippins (backing vocals) and Sam McNally (keyboard). Some brilliant guitar work by Jason, who's been playing on and off in the band since he was 13. They performed 19 songs from right across the band’s history, including a number from their soon to be released album, “Poisoned Planet”, finishing an hour overtime.
