Script: Countering Cymanti in Polytopia

Hello and welcome to a video I was suggested to make and thought would be fun. Now, Polytopia has a lot of tribes that are misinterpreted by the playerbase as a whole, and are severly misunderstood as a result. Among these is Cyamnti, the most recent edition to the Polytopia roster. This particular tribe is one of the most dominant at the moment, and as a result many players find it difficult to play against them. So, how does the player counter Cymanti?
I have devised a strategy for dealing with Cymanti that I think is reasonably effective. Once again I must give a cautionary message though; this strategy will only be effective if the player using it can innovate and only in certain situations at that. Cymanti is considered S-Tier precisely because it has no specific crippling weaknesses at any phase of the game whatsoever. With that being said though…
…let's discuss the counter to cymanti.
Cymanti are a tribe that rely on spam in the early game, and in the later game shift to using heavier units, namely the Doomux and Centipede. When dealing with Cymanti players, you must be sensitive to which phase of the game you are in and deal with the tribe accordingly. Therefore, my first tip in dealing with the Cymanti player, especially if they are a bot, is to research Civalry as qucikly as you reasonably can to punish the spamming of Hexapods and wipe out Phychis and other light units fast. One caution I must give though is that hexapods can render a Knight almost useless if they are able to attack first, due to the Knights’s low defense and the movement restriction incurred by a mobile units if other units sit next to them. Therefore, follow the normal Knight rules of thumb- do not allow them to be attacked first and only promote to Veteran after the attack chain is finished. Do this and you should have a reasonable time agianst spam.
But wait, you say. Cyamanti are a tribe that have quick economic growth, so surely by the time you have knights, they will have Doomuxes and other late-game units? Well, yes, but you can offset this by playing as a T0 tribe in order to develop as qucikly as Cymanti if not quicker and will often be able to keep up with the pace of economic development Cyamnti has or outpace your oponent completely.
Some players like to make the mistake of assuming that Oumaji are the best tribe for developing Knights because they start off with Riders, but I would urge you against making the mistake of assuming that a tribe with such a weak economy could really hope to match Cymanti. While I’m doing disclaimers and caveats, I might as well add that I’ll talk about the special tribes last, since these strategies really aren’t as applicable to those tribes simply because all of those tribes have their own separate and unique playstyles that really can’t be discussed as part of this or I’d make my statements too broad.
Another thing that applies when dealing with Cymanti is that you shouldn’t particularly bother with city walls. The defense bonuses walls will give you just won’t be effective against any poinsonous Cymanti unit including the popualr Phychi and the centipede super unit, so you’d be far better off simply getting stars and building an extra Knight or upgrading another city. Explorers can be useful in conjunction with any Knight- based strategy to decide where to go with your chain, but in the end I will always favour Workshop on the lvl2 capital upgrade simply because it’s useful to be able to research more techs and build extra units earlygame. That being said, if you are facing Cymanti you should seriously condsider a T0 tribe that can research another tech on T1 like Imperius or Bardur, just because at least on smaller maps you will be able to grow and reasearch techcnology much faster than Cymanti.
