The effects of BBPV and Vertigo can be intense for your patients. This short video gives you a tool to provide relief in a lot of those cases. This is a demonstration of the Epley maneuver for a patient who has a problem with their right ear.

First, you're gonna rotate the patient's head 45 degrees to the affected side, then rapidly lower them back, extending their head over the bed's edge by 30 to 60 degrees.

Now, we'll wait approximately 30 seconds to one minute for the patient's symptoms to resolve when they're facing the right ear, the affected ear, in this case, to the ground, then we're gonna move their head 45 degrees to the opposite side. In this case, the left side.

After waiting 30 to 60 seconds in this position, we will rotate the entire patient's body, including their head, over again, 90 degrees to the left. We'll ask them to hold this position once more for 30 to 60 seconds and then slowly have them return to an upright, seated position with their head locked into that 45-degree turn to the left side while looking down. This helps prevent repositioning of the stone. Then we'll have them rest in this position for another 30 to 60 seconds before returning to normal.
