Dear brothers and sisters, peace in Christ. Welcome to our One Chapter per day Bible reading time.
By God’s grace, today we will read Matthew chapter 16.
In this chapter, Jesus warns the disciples about the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and Sadducees, reveals the true foundation of His Church, and foretells His own suffering and death. We also hear Peter’s bold confession that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Yet soon after, Peter struggles to accept that the path of the Messiah leads through the cross.
This passage reminds us that following Christ means recognizing Him as Lord and embracing the way of the cross — denying ourselves, taking up our cross, and following Him daily. Let us listen with reverence and gratitude to God’s Word together.
