Ever wondered if the rare candy glitch is required to hunt in generation one? The answer is no, it’s just used to do the hunts faster. So if not wanting to use glitches stopped you for hunting in gen one, now you know it doesn’t have to (at least for the starters). For trade Pokémon or mew, it may be possible to check the Pokémon with only the available rare candies per game if using the FGSHT. I have hunted gen one mew in yellow and bulbasaur in blue without the rare candy glitch.
