Forio (also known as Forio d'Ischia ; pronounced forìo ) is an Italian town of approximately 17,329 inhabitants in the metropolitan city of Naples in Campania.

History of FORIO:

Forio has undergone several invasions by the Saracens over the centuries , of which it retains marked signs in the local architecture. From 1938 to 1945 it was aggregated to the municipality of Ischia, together with the other municipalities of the island, forming a single administrative entity of the island of Ischia. In the fifties many artists from all over the world met in this town, attracted by the beauty of the places and the friendliness of the residents.

Numerous beaches in FORIO including that of "S. Francesco di Paola" and those of "Chiaia" and "Citara", with the famous thermal park of the "Giardini Poseidon" and the " Baia di Sorgeto ", equipped with natural pools of water warm in the sea, among the volcanic rocks.
