Poland's Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) project is making significant progress. The completion of the Retkinia launching chamber for the Łódź high-speed rail tunnel marks a major milestone. Excavation is scheduled to begin in late 2026, a crucial step toward creating Poland's longest railway tunnel. This ambitious 4.6-kilometer tunnel, part of the Warsaw-Łódź Line 85, will allow for 160 kilometer-per-hour travel. The tunnel's construction, managed by CPK, prioritizes both modern infrastructure and the safety of surrounding buildings, including thorough structural assessments conducted by Albraco. The Retkinia chamber, a 180-meter-long, 23-meter-deep structure, is now complete, paving the way for the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). Simultaneously, the receiving chamber at the Fabryczna site is under construction, demonstrating CPK's dedication to modernizing Polish transportation. This entire undertaking reflects Poland's commitment to improved connectivity and economic growth.
