Описание к видео Webinar: Safety, Ethics and the Elephant in the Room (Recorded 10/18/2018)

Safety, Ethics & the Elephant in the Room is a continuing education webinar for those in the field of social work.
This webinar was broadcasted by Social Work Today and sponsored by the University of New England's Online Social Work Program.

This training focused on current trends in assessing social worker safety. We have spent a great deal of time talking about client safety but have been lagging in our discussions around worker safety. There are several states trying to enact specific legislature to require social service worker safety training. Mental health services are increasingly being offered in families’ homes and communities at a time when we are reducing mental health funds for client services, staffing of workers and client supports. There have been several violent episodes towards mental health workers reported recently in the news.

During this training, the presenter focused on:
1. Current safety issues/concerns
2. Safety techniques
3. A discussion to create a plan for increased safety
