Who is Yasir Nawaz?
Yasir Nawaz Baloch is a Pakistani director, producer, screenwriter, actor and former model.. Mainly known as a television actor, he has also directed movies such as Wrong No. (2015), Mehrunisa V Lub U (2017) and Wrong No. 2 (2019)

Early and personal life

Yasir was born in a family of four children to Fareed Nawaz Baloch, an actor who had more than 100 TV plays to his credit and also performed in two films.

He is a Sindhi-Baloch by ethnicity but identifies as a Sindhi in terms of culture.. He is the elder brother of fellow actor-director and comedian Danish Nawaz. He married Nida Yasir (born Pasha), a producer, actress and host, in 2002 and they have three children together.

Career

Baloch started his career as an actor and model. Later he started direction and production of television dramas.
The individual has had a prolific career in Pakistani television, beginning in 1993 with Badaltay Mausam on PTV, where they appeared as an actor. This was followed by several other acting roles including Dhoop Mein Sawan (1998), Mohlat, and Aik Mohabat Sau Afsanay (1999). In the early 2000s, they continued to act in dramas such as Jannat, Kahaniyan (2002), and Harjaee on Indus Vision in 2003. By 2006, they expanded into directing with Dil, Diya, Dehleez on Hum TV and continued directing popular serials such as Meri Adhoori Mohabbat (2008), Nadaaniyaan (2009), Dil Ki Dehleez Par, and Uraan (2010). Notably, they also served as a producer on Hum Tum (2010).

In the following years, their directorial work gained further recognition with serials like Saat Pardon Mein (2012), Jannat Se Nikali Hui Aurat, Shukk (2013), Chup Raho (2014), Malaika (2015), and Tum Kon Piya (2016). Their acting roles also continued in projects such as Masoom (2017), Dil Mom Ka Diya (2018), Mera Dil Mera Dushman (2020), and Sanwal Yaar Piya (2025). Their work extended across leading networks including PTV, Geo Entertainment, ARY Digital, Hum TV, and Urdu 1.

In addition to television dramas, they directed the 2013 telefilm Anjuman. Their film career includes major roles both behind and in front of the camera. They directed, wrote, and produced the film Wrong No. (2015), in which they also had a cameo appearance. This was followed by Mehrunisa V Lub U (2017), Wrong No. 2 (2019), and Chakkar (2022), where they were actively involved as director, producer, and screenwriter, with acting roles in all except Mehrunisa V Lub U.

Their achievements have been recognized at numerous award ceremonies. They were nominated for Best TV Director at the 10th Lux Style Awards for Thori Si Wafa Chahiye, and again at the 11th and 14th editions for Uraan and Shukk, respectively. At the 15th Lux Style Awards, their film Wrong No. was nominated for Best Film. At the 2nd ARY Film Awards, they won Best Director, while the ARY Digital Social Media Awards honored them as Best Actor (Male) for Dil Mom Ka Diya. They also received accolades at the 3rd and 4th IPPA Awards, winning Best Actor (Serial), Best Film (Wrong No. 2), and Best Director (Film). At the 2nd Pakistan International Screen Awards, they were recognized as Best TV Actor – Jury for Bikhray Moti.
