BCSGA represents growers from the length of BC's coast and has been doing so since it's inception as the BC Oyster Growers Association in 1948. BC shellfish are recognized for flavour and quality around the world, with Baynes Sound in the Comox Valley being one of the richest oyster grounds on the planet. A number of years ago the BC Shellfish Festival was launched as a way to celebrate our coastal abundance. Matt Wright has been at the helm of BCSFestival for several years. It is now the largest shellfish festival on the West Coast, and the largest shellfish festival west of PEI in Canada.

Matt talks about how the organization and festival got involved in #FlavourSept23, and what we can expect as he works with Chef Garrett Schack of Victoria's Vista 18 at the event.
