Описание к видео My Artizan C-1 Band Organ Palette Valve/Pressure Control Inspection

Today I check the palette valve/ pressure control on my Artizan C-1 Band Organ and this seems to be intact and working from what I can see as upon recently testing the organ, it won't play. It doesn’t make a difference if the valve is open or closed so I’ll need to further disassemble this to check the leather and seals. (being an Artizan, this is a pressure system, not vacuum) I tracked the tubing to where it joins above the stack. There seems to be a major junction at this point. Maybe an interior valve or something? Then air must transfer beyond to points that control rewind/forward roll frame mechanisms. This instrument is a work in progress and I feel I will soon find the culprit silencing it. The pressure pump seem to be supplying adequate pressure, the bellows leather still looks in great shape.

For those who don't know, this is Artizan organ 478! This instrument originally was owned by Tom Champion of Terre Haute, Indiana (a friend of Paul Eakins the founder Gay 90s Village) in the 1950s/60s who also owned a large collection of other band organs and circus themed objects including the Wurlitzer 180 that is now in the Sanfillippo "Place de la Musique" collection in Barrington Hills, IL, a steam calliope wagon (now in a circus museum someplace in Indiana), a Wurlitzer 153 (now in an Ohio collection) and multiple Artizan machines including one that played Wurlitzer 150 and one that played 125 rolls. When owned by Tom Champion, my organ in particular was on a rentable parade unit which most prominently went to the Richard Nixon rally in 1968 in Indianapolis, IN where it likely played patriotic tunes proudly. After sold from Tom Champion, it was repaired by the late Mike Kitner and later sold to Dr. Stanley who was a suicide researcher and neuroscientist who passed away in 1993. Out of circulation for about 40 years, his wife Dr. Barbara Stanley kept the organ and eventually was placed in the storage unit in New Jersey hidden directly below a Dollar Tree. I picked it up from the storage unit after Dr. Barbara Stanley passed away recently and the Stanley's daughter is who put the organ for sale! The organ came with many 61 key Artizan D rolls, 61 key B.A.B recuts and rolls for Artizan "C" instruments. It today is one of two "C-1s" now known to survive and now an iconic piece of the Sam Morex Mechanical Music Collection!
