There are two games that are both called "Sparkster". The one that's NOT featured here is the SNES version. This game's subtitle: Rocket Knight Adventures 2, makes it obvious that this is the direct followup to the first Sega Genesis game.

The entire Prologue sequence can be skipped, but if you're trying to get the game's True Ending like I am in this playthrough, I suggest that you don't.

In this game, after defeating the Devotindos Empire and its dark secrets, and saving Princess Sherry, Sparkster the Opossum heads out to search for seven powerful swords. He finds one of them deep within a cave using his new personalized mech.

Before he could pull the sword from its stone, Rocket Knight rival Axel Gear crashes the party with his own mech. The two of them then commence a mecha battle.

One button is for a jab, another button is for a stronger but slower hook, and the last button is for blocking. Use these controls to help Sparkster defeat Axel. This can take a little while depending on what you're doing.

Once Axel is out of the way, Sparkster goes back and retrieves the magic sword that he was pulling out earlier.

Congrats! You got the first magic sword before the game could really begin. Only 6 more to go!
