Norton Commando Mk2a wiring loom standard, rewire and custom.

Описание к видео Norton Commando Mk2a wiring loom standard, rewire and custom.

Just a quick look at a Commando mk2a loom, well it works with all up to the MK3, and a replacement. Also a custom build for a modified bike.

A look at the components used, zenner, rectifier and capacitor that were used to rectify and control the voltage of the single phase generator. Plus the wiring for the assimilator used to show if the battery is charging.

Then the replacemet I make that cuts down the unnecessary clutter and adds a bit of headroom to the current carying capacity. Not strictly needed but if a short occurs or a high load it helps against heated, hardened and discoloured wiring. Thiwire 2.0mm also matches the size of Norton cable. Cloth covering adds to the asthetic, my purpose being to make the wiring as discreet as possible. The custom loom uses a single harness, doing away with mass connections under the tank. With all switch gear feeding into the headlamp on all my looms the need for those break points seems unnecessary. earth points are provided to the ignition, horn and anywhere else to prevent using the frame for return.
