If you want to stop the applications that are running in the background of your Samsung phone then what you do is the first thing is tap on this icon here. This will show you all the apps that are running in the background. Select "close all". So this will close all the apps that are running in the background. Now the next thing that you can do is you can go to "settings". Go to "Apps". From here also you can individually select those applications which you don't want to run in the background like for this one open it. Select "Force stop" and then "Force stop". So this game will not run in the background unless you open the application or you restart the phone. Now the third thing that you can do is you can go to "settings" again. Go to this option "Device care". Go to "battery"

and here you can see the applications are running in the background like if you see YouTube, it ran in the background for 15 hours and 15 minutes. You can see Google Play services three days, Facebook 5 hour in 22 minutes. So if you don't want these applications to run in the background open it and you have to enable this option "Put app to sleep". So what does this do is this will put this app to sleep immediately when it's not in use. So once you close the application, the application also will go to sleep mode. That means it will not run in the background. But here you have to understand one thing that you might not be able to receive the notifications for those application unless you open the app. Now the last thing that you can do is again go to "settings". Go down and you have to open this option "Developer options". If you have not activated developer options you have to activate it at first. Then open.

Scroll down and there is an option called "Running Services". Open it. So this will show the applications that are running in the background. Now from here you can stop those applications which you don't need. But one thing you have to understand do not stop those applications which are system applications like settings, clock, Edge screen. Don't Stop Those application. Only stop those applications that you have installed yourself. For example this I have installed myself. I will open it and then stop.

Now this application will stop running in the background. As you can see it is removed from this running Services list. so these things you can do in order to stop the applications that are running in the background and this might increase the performance of your phone by a little bit margin.
