Violin making may have slowed down a little in Italy in the 19th century but it was growing rapidly in other places like France. The brilliant luthier Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume studied the old Italian instruments and put his own French spin on the craft. Cellist Nicholas Canellakis talks his love of French instruments and about what makes his 1840s Vuillaume so special.
