Описание к видео Haroon Siddiqui, Renowned Canadian Journalist & Author, Discusses His Memoir "My Name is Not Harry"

Join us tonight as our host Br Ahmed Ramadan interviews Haroon Siddiqui about his latest book, "My Name is Not Harry."

Siddiqui is the Editorial Page Editor Emeritus, and a senior fellow of Massey College.

Long before Mehdi Hasan, Hasan Minhaj or Bassem Yousef, there was renowned Muslim Canadian Journalist, Haroon Siddiqui. Reporting for 50 years, from 50 countries, at the helm of Canada's largest newspaper the Toronto Star for 38 of those, he has long championed minority stories and pluralism. A recipient of the Order of Canada for his journalism, the highest award given to a civilian, Siddiqui’s work has also appeared in The New York Times, The Guardian, and The Globe and Mail.

After its release in Canada, Siddiqui’s memoir, "My Name is Not Harry" is now available in the US. The number of sales a book has in its launch week has the potential to put it on the bestseller lists. This book is part of the #OneBookOneUmmah campaign.

A prominent voice on issues of social justice, identity, and religious tolerance, his personal anecdotes are interwoven with reflections on the political and social climate. His memoir offers an important perspective on what currently feels like the death of DEI in America. This compelling and timely narrative offers an intimate exploration of identity, highlighting the personal and societal challenges faced by Muslims living in the West today. The book presents Siddiqui’s own journey as a Canadian and a Muslim immigrant, drawing parallels between his experiences and the broader struggles of Muslims in a post-9/11 world. His insightful commentary and dedication to social justice and human rights have made him a respected figure in Canadian media.
