NO ID Zygopetalum rescue: three years later! An update

Well Plant Lovers, quite regularly I get a comment asking about a follow up on my Zygopetalum rescue & re-pot video from three years ago:    • Zygopetalum rescue! A FB Marketplace ...   ... and here it is!! Finally I have some flower spikes so I think it's time for a follow up. Now it's not QUITE as triumphant a story as I'd hoped because all the flowers and buds were badly blasted by a spell of cold & wet night time weather we had over the last weeks in Melbourne!! But undeterred, and with quite scabby flowers, here we are! It is the first Zygopetalum I've been able to bloom and it has taken me a while to figure what they need, or at least what this one needs, in my climate. And now that the plant has bloomed it looks a lot like the species Zygopetalum intermedium, which is now called Zygopetalum maculatum subsp. maculatum by Kew. This is a damp growing terrestrial which blooms autumn/winter and whether mine is a hybrid or not, or this species or not, it clearly has a lot of that species type in its makeup which is a good indicator of the type of care it will need. So now of course....I might have to add to my Zygo collection!
